Greater Anglia is encouraging people to get out and explore Suffolk by train this month with a range of discounts.
To make it easier and even more convenient to travel by train, Greater Anglia has several great value fares available such as discounted Advance tickets, Ranger tickets, and the Family & Friends Railcard.
You can save a small fortune on parking when you travel by train and avoid queues of traffic in the county’s tourist hot spots.
Here are some of the events happening in Suffolk in May which are accessible by train:
Walk ‘n’ Water, Sudbury & Great Cornard Riverside

Beccles Food and Drink Festival
Plenty of artisan East Anglian food and drink stalls, world street food, cookery theatre, music, children's entertainment will be taking over the charming market town of Beccles on 25 May 2024 for a Food & Drink Festival. This free to attend event not only showcases the region's top food & drink providers, but this year the Local Flavours mobile cookery theatre will feature budding chefs and bakers showing off their skills. Beach Street Beer Festival
Take the train to Felixstowe for the Hopster’s beer festival taking place on 24 and 25 May in Micklegate Street. Enjoy craft beer, street food, guest breweries and live DJs. Children and dogs welcome. Be sure to enjoy the pier and sea front while you are there.
Suffolk Show
Trinity Park, Ipswich, hosts the Suffolk Agricultural Association’s Suffolk Show on 29 and 30 May. The Suffolk Show, which goes back almost 200 years, is an iconic agricultural event that celebrates the rich heritage, culture, and industry of Suffolk.
